European removals
From NorburyRemovals from Norbury to Spain
Moving to Spain from the UK is one of the great British reinventions — sun, space and a slower pace. We carry your home there from Norbury by road, handle the post-Brexit customs, and set you up at the far end.
Spain draws people from SW16 for the obvious reasons and the quiet ones — the weather and the coast, but also lower running costs, grown-up children who settled there first, or simply the pull of a life lived more outdoors. Whatever is taking you, the practical question is the same: how does everything you own get from a Norbury flat to a place near the Mediterranean without it becoming a saga? That is our job, and we have done it many times over.
Where we deliver
Coasts, cities and islands
Costa Blanca
Alicante and the towns along it — one of the busiest destinations we run for from SW16.
Costa del Sol
Málaga, Marbella and the coast west of it, a favourite for retirement moves.
Barcelona & Catalonia
City apartments and the coast north, with access planned for tight streets.
Madrid
The inland capital — the long drive south rewarded by a straightforward city delivery.
Valencia
The eastern coast between the two Costas, city and huerta alike.
The Balearics
Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza — a ferry leg from the mainland, scheduled in advance.
The route
The long drive south
From Norbury we run out to the M25 and down to the Channel, crossing by ferry or the Eurotunnel shuttle. From there it is a drive through France and over the border into Spain, then on to your region — the Costas, Catalonia, Madrid or the coast at Valencia. For the Balearics we add a ferry leg from the mainland. It is a longer haul than France, so we plan it as a proper expedition: sensible driving stages, secure overnight stops for the load, and a delivery window you will find in your written quote rather than a promise we cannot keep.
Since Brexit
Customs, without the headache
Since the UK left the EU, your belongings are an import when they reach Spain. That means a customs declaration and a detailed, valued inventory. If Spain is becoming your main home, you can normally claim relief on your used personal effects — the counterpart to Transfer of Residence relief — so you are not taxed on the sofa you have owned for years. We build the inventory with you, line up the residence evidence, and make sure the paperwork rides with the load. You will not be standing at a border filling in forms.

Good to know
Moving to Spain from Norbury — your questions
How do my belongings actually get to Spain?
By road. From Norbury we head for the M25 and the Channel, cross by ferry or the tunnel, then drive down through France and over the border into Spain. The whole load stays on the road under our care — there is no transfer to a container port unless your destination genuinely calls for it, which we would discuss first.
What about moving personal belongings to Spain after Brexit?
Spain now treats your household goods as an import, so you need a customs declaration and a detailed, valued inventory. If you are moving your main residence to Spain, you can usually claim relief on used personal effects — the equivalent of Transfer of Residence relief — provided the paperwork and residence evidence line up. We prepare the inventory and guide the relief application with you.
Can you deliver to the islands — Mallorca or Ibiza?
Yes. The Balearics add a ferry leg from the mainland, so the run drives down through Spain to the departure port and then crosses by sea. It is a little more involved to schedule, so the earlier you tell us the island address, the better we can plan the connection.
We are only part-furnishing our place in Spain — is a full lorry overkill?
Often, yes. Many moves to Spain are part loads — a share of the vehicle sized to what you are actually taking, with the rest of the space going to other moves on the same run. You pay for your share, not the whole lorry. Your written quote will set out an estimated window for collection and delivery.
